I agree. Redknapp was one of those players who was ****e for weeks and then just as you were beginning to question his place he would hit another blockbuster from 30 yards. Riise is the modern equivalent.

Last week after the England game, sky was debating the Gerrard/Lampard can they play together thing. Redknapp more or less accepted that Stevie was the better player of the two (how could he deny this!) but stated that of course his "cousin" Frank could play with stevie. How's that for impartiality?

His missus is over rated too!

But what do you think about David Tennant? Is he your type or not?
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Blimey I can't believe the rubbish I'm reading against Redknapp, He was a class act and a brilliant midfielder. At the same age he was a much better player than his cousin. The reason he's not seen as a superstar is that Jamie suffered from too many injuries that blighted season after season. He should and would have been an England regular but for injuries.

He was a well respected captain, just look at the FA cup final when the team made him pick up the trophy.

As for being a pundit, fair play to him thats a tough job, I don't agree with everything he says but then again I don't agree with the bloke next to me either.

Agree wholeheartedly with you about him as a player.

He is a rubbish pundit though. too close to certain players and finds it hard to criticise them. He also doesn't bring any insight above that you would get from the man next to you in the pub. I think he would do well in the Lineker role on TV but as a pundit he is somewhat lacking.

I tell you what, I am no longer asking for a pint of Tennant's after this conversation!

He is clearly a well liked, professional and honest lad. I don't know how anyone would dislike him. But as a footballer I really disagree and did do at the time.

His passing was floaty, took an age to arrive, he was short of pace and was just a relatively good player. When his injury took him out of the side we won the treble.

He was an ok player, but remembering him as brilliant is for me just more evidence of the hype.

People who say Redknapp shouldn't have to big up the reds all the time just because used to play for us and he's being objective about us etc are missing the point. What pisses people off is he is all too ready to forego being objective to praise his cousin beyond all reality but when it comes to us he's actually quite negative at times and there's not often much of the bias that comes with personal feeling there. That pisses me off.

People have gone overboard about it I agree, it's really not that big a deal. It does **** me off and he is a ****e pundit, but he's just one of a thousand ****e pundits that piss me off, let's face it most of them are total ****e.
