Masherano was good in defence, in front of the back four consistently and went in for the ball until he won it back. The difference between him and Momo is the distrobution after the ball has been won.
Masher is better in the distribution.
Momo is great at breaking up really good midfielders and attacking players, but his final ball is a bit suspect.
It would be great to see them in the formation against Arsenal more often, as it really opens up the field for good attacking runs.
World class midfiield now, no questions.
Defence is very good, close to world class.
A couple of lightening quick wingers and a world class striker and we are there.

Doctors differ and patients die. I thought he had a **** game.Originally posted by bacon View PostI thought that Mark Gonzalez had his best game for us also on Sat.
He showed a real blast of speed a couple of times and put in some decent crosses .. not the great player we have been promised as yet but I see him making progress
Incidentally for once I agree with DJS. I think Masher could be the replacement for Didi"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

Remember those well, must have been infuriating for the opposition player(s)Originally posted by Redlife View PostI can picture Didi just doing that.... back to the opposing player, going nowehere, referee watching.. timber! Didi falls flat.... free kick. Opposing player doesn't quite know what he's done.
The number of times he got us out of trouble by doing that! Intentionally winning a free kick and buying us time.

His speciality was when there was two opposition players around him, he'd somehow manage to get one of them to lunge just as he moved the ball thus falling over the outstreched leg. Class, it's far from cheating and diving it was buying a foul.

Mate it's not just this thread - it's every time he starts one. His threads usually degenerate into a playground full of petty crap, and usually through no fault of his own.Originally posted by Fiddy View Post..all judging the guy after two decent games for us. ****, I'd have said the exact same thing to anyone who posted that, the fact I think the DJ is a plonker is irrelevant. And I don't think it was exactly 'jumping down his throat' either, think people are getting a bit over sensitive. There was no swearing and I only gave it one 'jesus'
And if that was really the way he meant it, then he's done his old trick of saying something that's open to misinterpretation, so what do you expect? Didi was a ledge so for someone to say he's been 'replaced' after a couple of good games is, to me disrespectful
It obviously is too early to say, but I think DJS may well be right. Mascherano does indeed look like the Hamann replacement we've been craving. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

18 month loan deal worth 1.5mOriginally posted by Chiccada View PostSpeaking of Masher, is he actually our player or is he on loan?
Were there any details of the transfer publicly documented???

At the end of that we have first option to buy him.
Win-win situation, great bit of business from Parry.

A few have said - Masher for home games, Momo for away games...
i quite like that idea actually.
Masher is a far better passer of the ball so in the home games where we
are intent on dictating the play he would be the better option than Momo
who is better suited to stopping attacks rather than starting them so the away game would be ideal for him."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

I have to disagree; I think that Momo is far more attack minded than Mascherano. Mascherano is happy to sit in front of the back four winning the ball and quickly distributing the ball. Momo is a lot more dynamic, his seemingly boundless energy means he can get all about the midfield and get into his opponents face. He is a lot more prone to carrying the ball and surging forward.Originally posted by Marky19 View PostA few have said - Masher for home games, Momo for away games...

I thought Mascherano was immense on Saturday, both he and Alonso dominated the midfield and controlled the tempo of the game. Augurs well for the future and certainly has shown that he could have huge future for us.

...before putting a pass onto the feet of an opposing midfielder or into touch. He is the worst passer on the team, hands down.Originally posted by DeeTheDog View PostI Momo is.... a lot more prone to carrying the ball and surging forward..."Our legacy begets an excellence that surpasses the particulars of who produces it." -- David Carr
