Alonso Vs Gerrard

Gerrard is much, much better than Alonso. He can do everything in a CM plus score goals which Alonso deoesn't do. Alonso's good, mind, but nowhere near Gerrard.

just to be argumentative...SG does pretty much nothing you'd expect from an CM. his game is about impact, speed, the spectacular and all this comes from an advanced role. or right wing where he's pretty good. CMs - when they're good - win the ball, move the play, change lines of attack and provide an outlet for players like SG.
