            sheringham was defo in fowler's book as someone evans wanted and who the board wouldn't buy. sheringham i think is one of the best players since the premiership started and would have fitted liverpool beautifully.

                  Roy Evans also turned down the chance to sign Roberto Carlos from Inter Milan for £2m, and Jaap Stam for a similar fee from PSV a year before United signed him.

                          Wouldn't have made a difference. We still had David James in goal.

                            i think every team has made big mistakes in the market. look at the scum no ronaldihno or robben.

                            but i dont think carlos was ever that good. he lived off that free kick for a long time

                                I always wanted us to sign Sheringham too.
