Navas isn't good enough tracking back and everyone knows that Rafa want the whole team to work very hard. I can't imagine that he would make it in the PL, to lightweight.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View PostSo we should sign Navas and play him as RW then, sorted.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

YOu can't have been watching Alves very well then. He's been world class.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View PostHaving watched both closely for the past year or so I have come to the conclusion that Simao is the better player for us if Rafa still want him.
Simao is a two footed natural winger who defends as good as assisting and scoring.
On the other hand, Alves is predominantly one footed. He only uses the left foot to stand on. Big example today v Spurs. He did not once touch the ball with his left foot. He reminds me a lot of Riise.
Furthermore, Simao would cost us less than Alves. Maybe we can get Simao for 10-12£ m instead of 20-25£ mill for Alves.
Just my opionion like but what do you think ?The Crushing Machine MKII

no actually i have since last season Sevilla games are on nearly everyweek on goaltv. To be honest he did improve since last season but i still think he is too lightweight and his defending needs to improve..his price is a bit too high as well.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostYOu can't have been watching Alves very well then. He has 10 assists FFS. How much better can he be. His crossing is second to none.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View Postno actually i have since last season Sevilla games are on nearly everyweek on goaltv. To be honest he did improve since last season but i still think he is too lightweight and his defending needs to improve..his price is a bit too high as well.

well if Rafa wants to play him as a RW then sure I'll take the assists but if he wants Alves to play RB then we're fooked royally with him back there and ginger on the other side. Alves is not good enough to play RB and not skillful enough to play RW. I can't recall seeing him skin a full back and get a cross in. Anyways, we wont be signing him cos he's too expensive.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostHe has 10 assists FFS. How much better can he be. His crossing is second to none.

Agree, he's never impressed me as a RB. As soon as Sevilla win the ball he's up into thefinal 1/3rd. If you watch them, most of the defending is done by the right sided CH.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View Postwell if Rafa wants to play him as a RW then sure I'll take the assists but if he wants Alves to play RB then we're fooked royally with him back there and ginger on the other side. As a right winger though, he'd be awesome. The Crushing Machine MKII

I quite fancy Riise & Alves as Wing Backs, so when we can & when we need to we can go with 3 CDs with Masher & Alonso running the middle, SG in front of them with one of our strikers & a buzzing Eto'o type striker, like a 3-4-1-2 and playing at home would be phenomenal!Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostAgree, he's never impressed me as a RB. Three in the middle and wing backs would definitely get the most out of what we have.Originally posted by lfc4ever View PostI quite fancy Riise & Alves as Wing Backs, so when we can & when we need to we can go with 3 CDs with Masher & Alonso running the middle, SG in front of them with one of our strikers & a buzzing Eto'o type striker, like a 3-4-1-2 and playing at home would be phenomenal!
Just get Alves, Deco and Etoo and we'll be sorted whatever the formation

as a wing back cant really think of anyone better than Alves.
Not a Simao fan at all, I think he's gash. Decent at set pieces but we've pretty much got those covered already"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

Speedy, why do you think we have room for Deco? Where would he play if we play 3 CMs (Alonso, SG & Masher) + 2 strikers? And with what he would cost when we potentially could have Tevez? Even SG's probably better suited to our league in that role. Deco's not done enough for me since he left Porto.

Sevilla chief denies offers for Chelsea, Liverpool target Alves
tribalfooball.com - April 07, 2007
Sevilla sports chief Monchi insists no Premiership offers have arrived for wing-back Daniel Alves.
Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with the Brazilian, but Monchi says: "We have received no formal propositions and now we are in the race for a number of competitions, that is our main concern.
"(Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido) has insisted that I do not discuss Alves or any other player until June."Just believe and you never know what will happen.

Spot on. I watch quite a lot of La Liga on ESPN and have watched Alves a **** load of times and that was one of the worst displays i've seen from him.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostAlves was **** tonight.
But anyone who has seen him play regularly can vouch for the fact that he is world class. Light years ahead of that skin-tight shirted little runt Simao.
