For all the stats and scenarios and everything else, one thing matters at the end of the day, the team and what the players can do for the team. Crouch offers a lot more than just goals in the team, he is a great player on the ball and is very inventive. The only problem with him is he is not a player who can turn a game all by himself on a regular basis. Someone else has to take the initiative and play well for him to turn up, plus he has no pace.

If he had the pressure play of say, Fowler, and at least some pace then Crouchie would have a lot more about him and play a lot more games and possibly be the top striker in the league

% of games scored in having started, would that not be a better stat to evaluate? what use a striker that scores 15 goals in few games as opposed to the one that scores regularly throughout a season.

Let's not forget there is actually some merit in a striker scoring more than one goal in the same game. I'm not convinced Crouch scores goals in bursts significantly more or less than other strikers do, so there's no real reason to narrow the sample.

I like Crouch alot and have been happy to see how he's improved. Hopefully he can improve even more. A couple of goals in the semi would be good.

One thing though, When I got in from the match last night and put on SSN they were running some interviews from after the match. Crouch was on and they were asking him all the usual bull**** before asking " How would you feel to put the club you support out the CL because you're a Chelsea season ticket holder aren't you?" Crouch' reply was "Yeah, me and my dad have been fans for a while so he'll be there."

I never knew he was a chav.

The WHOLE company,they`ve ruined football and are obviously very pro-Chelsea first and pro ManU second.

Companies like Sky injected so much money into football to monopolise the TV rights therefore enticing players and their agents to get greedier and greedier which in turn inflated player prices which favoured ManU and then Chelsea.


So many "Smaller" teams suffered as a knock on effect.
