Exactly Ronan, which is why when the hardcore start on the Cat B's it soon gets out of control. I've seen it and attacked while minding my own business so I fought back to defend myself - that doesn't make me a hooligan but the press or governing bodies don't care about that. Violence is violence.

The fans need to show the local police and people respect. Let them see we are not the stereotypical thugs that travel to away games to brawl. It's not the rational ones we have to worry about...those of us that are concerened with how we appear, and how we are percieved in the football community as a whole, well, we're never likely to kick off in the first place. It's the nutters (admittedly, from both sides) who will be drawn to this match like angry, mentally challenged moths to a flame.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but appealing to the supporters better instincts will only work on the ones who *have* better instincts.
