Thanjk you.

I really hope that doesn't happen. He would strengthen their forward line no end. If he IS up for a move this summer, I hope we're in for him. I'd much rather he came home than we got the likes of Raul.
Lets be realistic here; he's coming off 2 major injuries in 2 years. He's worth more to Newcastle if they keep him - rather than selling him this summer when his value is virtually nil - plus their PR department get to con their inbred gullible fans that his return will make them competitive next season, as well as selling loads of Owen-10 shirts and other tat.
From Rafas perspective it makes no sense to sign him, especially as there's no indication that he'll recover fully from his injuries and be the same player he once was. Why take the risk? Especially as we can afford to buy a younger, hungrier, fitter striker.
Haha. Probably not Nic. It's very rare for me to come out with these 'a mate of a mate's budgie told me' but this came from a first team regular and does seem a bit too much of a coincidence.
I'd take him back in a heartbeat.....love or hate him he is a predator and scores goals....fact!! if everyone just puts the madrid thing behind them and looks at the bigger picture it would be a positive move for the club both on and off the pitch!!
That's why buying him in Jan would be less of a risk. Assuming his foot and knee is fully healed, it would be interestiing to know whether effectively 2 years rest has sorted his hammys out.
For £12m, you're right - we could get a younger, "fitter" striker. But there would be risks with that too. £12m wouldn't buy you an English striker of similar calibre - you'd get a Defoe / Bent type. And any foreigner would be a risk in the Prem (as we know). Personally I'd prefer to go for Eto'o and Klose. But if Owen is available, we should be in the shake up if the cash spent on him doesn't affect the rest of Rafa's budget. Due to the influx of cash, this is probably the one and only summer were we could potentially get away with spending more than we "need" to. At the moment due to the lack of demonstartion of fitness, Owen falls into the "luxury" category (i.e. let's see what's in the pot left over when we've done everything else we want to)

A positive move to take an injury prone striker(fact) just coming back from another long lay off ( fact) who shat on us in the first place (fact-ish)
The bigger picture is Eto, Villa etc, I would be gutted if we bought owen if only becuase we wouldnt get vro, owen and another top striker plus he would be a complete **** to leave newcastle now

More so since his move to Newcastle who have possily the worst reputation in the premiership for conditioning players. Owen has always suffered with his hamstrings but his injury record at Liverpool & Madrid was not as bad as is generally perceived. I will get back to you with the stats!!
