-Cisse scored 19 goals last season, but in the interests of fairness AA allows for the ones scored in the CL qualifiers against amateur ****e, giving 15 goals.
-It was then pointed out that Bellamy scored 16 goals the same season playing in a worse team.
-We haven't heard from AA since.

    Interesting
I hadn't checked back on this thread until about thirty seconds ago Polo.

I think we all agree with Shaggy, neither are good enough, that's the bottom line. Let's move on.

Both are good enough for the prem if they were played in different styles. How often is Bellamy sent clear like Owen under GH? Not bloody often. The same could be said of Cisse last year.

For the record, I prefer Bellamy, but in all fairness to Cisse he was never played on a regular basis and was shoved on the RW, where he had never played before. He has also had to contend with 2 major injuries in a short space of time. With a good pre season under his belt, and a loving manager Cisse will be back banging the goals in again, will get a call up to France and then sold to a bigger club again! He will never be a player who will fit Rafas system, but he can do a job when the team focus on his strenghs.

Alot of the above could be said of Bellamy, he has also had to contend with rotation and being played out of position. He has also had to deal with off field controversy that was blown out of all proportion.

Under Rafa, I think Shaggys point stands, neither are good enough for his system and playing styles.
      Forwards.......

I think this really says it all. Cisse (pre broken legs) was far and away the best forward in the (admittedly poor) French league, but certainly an exciting player when used in the right way and worth a bet.

It didn't work out in the Prem, and now he needs to move on for his own good as much as ours. With the injuries, it seems he is now a shadow of what he was before in France. Which is a shame. I don't wish him him ill, just away from Anfield.

I'm hoping it will catch on.

I think he will recover to his explosive old self with time. Under GH I think he would have done well, the confidence of the manager and a style suited to his game would have done wonders. Under Rafa it's never gonna happen though and with any luck he will not come back.

Saviola considers future after no Barca offer

Barcelona's Argentine striker Javier Saviola has said he is studying offers from other clubs after failing to receive a promised contract renewal from the Spanish champions.
'Everyone knows what the situation is and my priority is to see what is best for me in the future,' Saviola told a news conference on Friday.
'I've got some important offers...but out of respect for my club I'm not going to give names or countries until I leave Barcelona.'
Earlier this season Barcelona sporting director Txiki Begiristain said the club planned to offer the 25-year-old an extension to his contract which ends in June.
'On the one hand the coach (Frank Rijkaard) has given me his backing, but on the other no one has said anything to me and so I'm going to look at my options for the future,' said Saviola.
Saviola joined Barcelona from River Plate for $28 million in 2001, but dropped down the pecking order when Rijkaard took charge of the team in 2003.
He was loaned to Monaco in 2004 and spent last season at Sevilla before returning to Barcelona for the present campaign.
His chances of regaining a place in the first team suffered a blow when the club decided to sign Iceland striker Eidur Gudjohnsen, but injuries to fellow forwards Lionel Messi and Samuel Eto'o meant that he played an important back-up role for the Catalans this season.
He has scored seven goals in his team's run to the semi-finals of the King's Cup and another five in the league.

He must be worth looking at, 25 so he has plenty to offer

He's probably worth a go with us but i doubt he will go for him.

I think Rafa finally wants to get a player that will get 20+ goals the likes of Etoooooo or Villa
