I stand my my opinion that Lucas Neill is complete and utter ****e, and he IS a yarddog. I would be as disgusted at the signing of lucas neill as I was of the signing of Julian Dicks. I was willing the Dicks deal to fall through as he was NEVER a LFC player in any shape or form and neither is Neill.

Not sure why everyone thinks he's ****e...tough/rough maybe, but not ****e. Injured Carragher maybe, but I doubt Rafa would sign him if there were bad blood with him and JC.

Maybe I'm biased, but IMO he was the best RB (performance-wise) that I saw playing in the WC. Obviously not the best RB in the comp, he sure played like it at times. Even against the likes of Brazil and Italy - til that controversial penalty.

Now if he's going cheap (which I think he will coz his contract runs out soon) I really think some people will be surprised.

He's 28 years old, which is another reason you can add to the list for Rafa not wanting to sign him.

I wouldn't say he's a yard dog or as poor as some of the posters on here would allude to. He is a very good tackler, and works hard. He is a dirty *******, though many players are. I dont buy into this 'he isn't Liverpool class' in terms of his personality. If I did, I wouldn't have welcomed both Pennant and Bellamy.
What is questionable though, is how many times he'll cause needless free kicks or get himself booked/sent off.
Furthermore, having had such a great world cup and also having been mooted as a potential signing for big clubs, would he be happy to sign as a back up option?? I mean, he doesn't offer enough going forward to take Finnans place, he would literally be a back up option

Not sure he'd want that, even if we are in for him
