The exception to the rule. Well pointed out.

Or, in many cases, the Premiership....

How's that better than Kuyt or Crouch?
Berbatov started the season slowly (it seems reasonable to say he needed time to adapt) and didn't get many full games but currently I woud say he looks the form striker in the division and he is scoring goals regularly now. Next season he will score 20+ PL goals IMO.

I have no doubts what soever that if he played for one of the 'big four', he would break the 20 prem goal barrier every season. He is only 26 too, i thought he was older.

            I'd pay 20mil for him.

If he does, then he might justify this £20m-£30m talk.

At the moment, it's nonsense. To class him with someone like Eto'o (which is what £30m quotes are doing) is silly surely?

Is eh incapable of scoring against a big team though? I haven't seen him score any against a top side in the league. On the other hand he does tend to make the players around him step up their game. I don't think it's a coincidence that Keane has had his best season this year.

Probably, in a one for one comparison he comes off worse. The question is how much of a premium is reasonable to pay for a player who has already adapted to the league?

That's a fair point, but with someone like Eto'o, everyone with a head would take the chance.

Berbatov is worth £15m tops, IMO. So far, anyway.

He scored against Chelsea in the FA Cup game, I think.

Did he? Well most of his goals tend to be against poor opposition, not that that's neccessarily a bad thing if he does it often enough.

you are classing poor opposition as anyone outside the top four and whats the point of that.
his 11 league goals have been against

sheffield, wigan, (2) boro, charlton(3), newcastle, arsenal, fulham (2), everton, west ham.

comapare that with ronaldo, drogba etc and it wouldnt be much different good players score against the lower teams its what they are supposed to do isnt it??
