Thanjk you.

He might have a chance of joining on a Bosman sometime in the future ala Fowler
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
Owen would be a great buy at that price. Proven quality in all competitions. Some people on here need to put their petty, childishness aside and just look at the facts .ie his scoring ratio, performances in big games.
Also, if he didn't score the goals in 2004 season we wouldn't have even qualified for CL in 2005, never mind win the bloody thing.
Ironically I think cost might be the reason Owen rejoins us. If these whispers of release clauses due to manager changes / not getting into Europe are true then he becomes a possibility as a striker purchase as around 10M would leave us funds to spend on wide players and maybe even another striker.

All this would be true if he was fully fit and we could guarentee he was the same player after his last injury. As it is £9m is an enormous gamble, which I can't for the life of me see us taking.

Correct. His long history of serious injury has to be taken into account, in the same way that any team looking to buy Harry Kewell would be very concerned with his fitness.
Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it
I'm not arsed about the Owen link but I'm horrified at the link with that midget Argentinian defender. 10 million quid?? F*ck that.
I know!! wtf...why do we need another unproven (ish) defender...our defence is awesome...buy a cheap centre half with proven premiership class....anton ferdinand springs to mind, im sure there are others.....Owen id have back, especially for 9 mill. And i do think hed be the perfect foil for kuyt/crouch.....that said id be disappointed if he was our "main" striker/purchase.....but as well as.....id be pleased.
