The used the wide area quite effectively at home against United though.
Wouldn't write them off on the wings, Italian sides are know to try and take advantage of all of the pitch and will try and stretch and manipulate teams.
Luckily enough, Rafa thinks in a similar way, only more advanced.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I doubt that Rafa will give him a five year deal because of his injury problems. Maybe a two year deal and if he is still fit after next season then give him a new four year deal.
I'd expect something like that if he comes through injury free until next christmas.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I think we should offer him a two year deal at lower wages....just to see how he reacts to it.
Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it

          badly i would imagine.
I think if he can stay fit he would be worth the 60k a week.

Great to see him back, but really think he should opt out of the Asia Cup and concentrate on gettting fit for next season, knowing our luck we will give him a new deal goes off to the asia cup and gets injuried

I've always been a big Harry Kewell fan even when he was getting slated, he's a top class player and when fit, he can make a massive difference to our offensive play.
He'll almost certainly be on the bench in the final, he may even start but i like that's highly unlikely, however he may be flying in training and Rafa may even start him.

Everyone keeps talking about those ageing legs of the Milan players, but as I remember in 2005 it was our players that cramped up in extra time, not theirs. I wouldnt bank on them tiring too much, they are a clever team and they wont tire in the closing stages quite as much as we all might hope!

It all depends on who has to do the chasing. If we get a lead and pass the ball about they will tire. Otherwise they wont. They're pretty clever in that they use Gattuso to do the chasing.

I want to see Kewell staying, think that balance is needed and with fresh legs and impetus to prove a point - get him in I say; but was there a slip of the tongue from Rafa in his post match interview with that lady commentator on MOTD:

Approx. 41secs into the interview. The commentator asks has anyone forced there way into
the team for the final, perhaps Harry Kewell?

"..he showed he want to stay, sorry, wants to be there.."
"Great job, team. Head back to base for debriefing and cocktails"
