Its difficult to keep a No 2 keeper happy. Carson won't want to be on the bench all season.

So i think what Rafa must do is look for a top keeper in a lower league who won't mind playing second fiddle for a couple of seasons. Or someone who is in the latter part of their career looking to be at a top club.

Harsh to lay into him after his debut, but it's difficult to imagine the boy has a future with us.
I was thinking this today watching the match but most of our ****test performances this season have come when the keeper has not been great, the two cup matches with dudek, the start of the season when reina was not at his best, and 2 of the last three matches we've been **** at the back.

I think Reina has a massive effect on our back four and a lot more than ppl give him credit

Padelli was poor - looked like a semi-pro who has a fulltime job working as a plumber. He didn't look like he wanted the ball to go near him and never came for the ball when he should've have done.

That's it. I can see why Rafa wanted to keep Dudek for as long as he has done due to his experience, but who do we replace him with? Carson will want first tema footy and Martin is probably no where near ready.
Maybe we could go for someone like Harper at Newcastle?

Harper is quality. Niemi is also a good keeper.

Utd and Arsenal did well to sign Kusack(sp) and Poom. 2 good back up keepers.

              Matt Murray at Wolves?

the charlton keeper today looked quite handy as well.

Same can be said when Dudek has been in Goal this season. Reina is a tough act to follow. Even Carson didnt look up to it in the few games he played last season. Reina does so much more than just keep the ball out of the net. There is No GK in the World at present that can replace Reina.

People only seem to compliment the defence for our defensive stability the last 2 seasons. The truth is Reina plays a major role in it. His anticipation and ability to neutralize threats before they develop goes unnoticed to most

Judging Padelli on his debut is very harsh. He's a kid and needs the match time to develop his confidence and his game.

He was Padelli The Jelly. Let's be fair it was his Premiership debut, but I have to admit I did expect better than what I saw today. Let's not judge the lad on 1 performance, though.

Hopefully now people will realise just how good Reina is. He gives the defence and the rest of the team far more reassurance and confidence. He plays like a sweeper behind the defenders and I think he's been outstanding since he signed for us 2 years ago.

Padelli was poor - I'm sure the LFC statisticians will be working out whether that was the quickest goal ever conceded on a keeper's debut - but Dudek was just as bad in the cup games against Arsenal. Hopefully Scott Carson will come back next year though I doubt it.

That was our first choice back four today and the fact that they conceded two goals (and it could have been six) proved that without Reina we would have dropped a lot more points this season and arguably wouldn't be playing Milan next week.

Reina gives the defence confidence, today they looked lost.

MY 8 year old daughter could tell he was bad

Can Carson play in the final?
