It was a truly awful game of football and Valdano is allowed to say so if he wishes.

    Valdano has a short memory

His Argentina World Cup winning side cheated their way to the final and also kicked anything that moved within 20 yards of their goal

He also should take a look at his own house the club that was once able to spend £45 million on one player

Maybe if Madrid could defend their lunches they would be more likely to retain their Champions League crown for the first time since 2002

Might have been an awful game of football but then there is nothing in the rules that say you should let the opposition keep the ball and do what they want with it

      Well said.

Valdano can say what he wants but when he suggests our team are a "**** on a stick" and our support at Anfield is oblivious to this I personally would like to pass on my personal message to him, which is

GO **** YOURSELF VALDANO you :whatever:

I hope i have not broken any rules here but it is a joke that his comments are given any credence.

Hell we could lay down like Manchester United against Milan if that is what he wants, personally i want to WIN
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Well the bloke's clearly misinformed; if **** on a stick looks like that I'll have more of it please. Great game again. Who says a great game has to have free-flowing football? How about intensity, passion, atmosphere? Oh, and the small matter if our 7th European Cup final. More ****ty sticks please.

I personally think it was an attack based on jealousy, Valdano is clearly envious of Rafa's success on the european stage and with how his profile has skyrocketed in recent seasons.

As a football club we split opinions down the middle, i believe, you love us with intense passion or hate us with equal amounts of passion.

Valdano's comments were aimed at the fact that Rafa never played pro football to any great level, add in the fact that Rafa has turned the Madrid job down 3 times now and you can see it's just pure envy on Valdano's part.

                        Valdano is a cock.

Like i said before, he is in no position to make these comments. He was no more than a decent player for Madrid and Zaragoza.

He was lucky to be part of a very good Argie side....who as Lecter said "kicked anything that moved"

His vendetta against Rafa is also becoming more and more apparent.

I sort of agree. Valdano was, I think, giving a compliment to Anfield and the Liverpool fans in one way but it was quite backhanded - assuming that we don't appreciate good football.

Rafa is however entitled to defend himself and the club and I think that his comments are motivated more as a responce to comments made about himself and Mourinho making teams that maximise work ethic without style to flatter their own egos as they were poor players than to the comments about Anfield. All things considered I think there is an aspect of Rafa feeling he deserves more respect and so do the fans, which I think is a fair enough sentiment.

No he's not AA. Valdano was incredibly disrespectful and Rafa was right to put the **** in his place.
