mate, i really fail to understand where you are coming from sometimes, it's posts exactly like this that either make ppl think you are a windup or a fool.

Everyone would like to see us signing quality experienced players, personally I like to follow the youth and the academy so I pay close attention to these types of things, but it isn't to the detriment of our first team signings that we're are getting these lads so what difference does it make, patience.

& lets be fair its only really the past 2 seasons that we have decided to buy a lot of talented youth ala Arsenal. Good business it certainly is, id guess if only 5% make it to first team status it will be greatly beneficial and save us millions.

Nemeth is one of the brightest young Hungarian strikers to come out of there for ages. He has scored 8 goals in 6 qualifying EURO U19 games before they got knocked out last week by Germany.
It really cracks me up when people as Marky19 who is utterly clueless and ignorent towards football outside England make such stupid comments.

For those that dont know, this was the biggest ever thread on KT, (when is was a busy site.......not the wasteland it is now), it got so big it caused the servers to crash,

It was during the Houllier days and was all about us signing a young Ghanaian midfielder for £3 million, there were even pictures of him in the director's box, at Anfield, as it happened we failed to qualify for the Champs leaugue that season so didnt proceed with the transfer.

OH and the players name........................Michael Essien!
He was already impressing in the French Championship though right?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I've heard about Nemeth and he is supposd to be some talent.

I don't get people moaning about signing up youth players. Firstly they could turn out to be great players and even if they don't, we could sell them on for a profit, thus helping the club.

It wasn't so long ago that we was moaning about the lack of youth coming through, we have since won 2 FA Youth Cups and are still looking for youth players. Things are looking good in that respect.

Nemeth seems like a goalscoring machine

hmm we're singing more and more youngsters. The question is are we actually going to give any of these guys a game in our first team. I see it as pretty pointless grabbing all these youngsters if we're never going to give any of them a game. We hear promising things about guys like Antwi, Hobbs and Roque still aging but instead of giving any of them a game we are looking to buy another central defender (Milito) which is the right choice but jeez when are these guys ever going to get a chance when we already have 2 established players in every position (average or not, we do)

And when they go out on loan ala Carson and do pretty well we still don't have space in our squad to accommodate them. Sometimes I wonder why we bother...

Well this is exactly what Rafa has been going on about for the last three yrs, things need to change in the way reserve matches go etc, but you still have to try, exceptional talents will always make their way through, that just says to me that we don't have anyone exceptional yet, which from watching numerous games we don't.

                      REDS AGREE DOUBLE HUNGARIAN SWOOP
                      Paul Eaton 28 May 2007

Liverpool have moved swiftly to bolster their reserve ranks by agreeing deals to sign Hungarian pair Krisztian Nemeth and Andras Simon from MTK Hungaria.
Nemeth, 18, and Simon, 17, appeared for Hungary in last year's UEFA Under-17 Championships.

The duo are both strikers, although Nemeth also plays in midfield.

If all else fails we should be able to get some money back on them in a few years. Either way it should be win win.

I bet Barcelaona said that when they signed Messi.

So you're suggesting to scrap Melwood altogether, not buy anyone young and build on them, wait until they've proven themselves and then pay over the moon for them once they've had a few hundred games under their belt and are excelling in their given position.
