With Sami now staying, i say we ship Paletti out on loan to another Premiership club(maybe one of the promoted teams) to learn the robes of what it takes to make it in the EPL.

Sami attitude has always been top class, maybe thats why the boss wants him to stay, to guide the young probably.

This makes sense. As good a back up as Milito would be he would probably cost an awful lot. Sami is here, is quality despite his age, is commited to the club, is suited to the premiership and has bags of experience.

I can't think of better cover for us.

Im really glad. Great player + would have been v sad to see him ply his trade at another EPL club

We know also dont need Milito or for that matter Ben Haim (who is reportedly joining Newcastle)
              We need better attacking players!

              Torres aint enough

                FLMAO @ 'learn the robes'

I think you mean 'show him the ropes', mate - sorry not meaning to take the piss, it just cracked me up

I agree with you though, Paletta should go on loan somewhere preferably Prem although that's unlikely, SPL or Championship club would be fine. He needs to get to grips with the different style of play, and we need to see what he's made of in that context.

Padetta is not ours, he's on loan. Paletti is ours and we should loan him out.

                          I agree.
Dont want us to spend 10 mill plus on a central defender now.

Fwiw, I'm not too sure about Milito myself, and like Tomas said, CB is not where we need to be spending big really.

That's why I see keeping Sami for another year, while our young defenders learn the robes... is the best was now.

I don't have any faith whatsoever in Paletta making the step up though, so ooner or later we're going to need to find another CB.
