From a business point of view maybe it's not the best idea because you'd need to discount the less popular games to be able to sell out otherwise you would still end up with empty seats which is your whole argument against mini ST's.

My idea with the min ST is that if you have a mini ST you cannot then go on the waiting list for a second ticket, you can have first option to upgrade, or even downgrade to a different ST if it becomes available but you can only have 1 in any season.

About giving to schools, I was inferring that people would do the honourable thing and say in advance if they are not going to go to a game and allow the club to give their seat to a local school. But probably I'm living in fantasy land thinking that Liverpool fans would do that rather than leave the seat empty.

In the end I think their is a place for mini ST's and that the problem you link to them is just as valid when selling single tickets or whole season tickets.

No system will be perfect but I think the club has a responsibility to try and come up with the best system that gives a fair balance of the needs of the club and the varied fan base that we are privileged to be part of.

I think we will have to agree to disagree but I think it's an interesting and important topic to discuss and I have enjoyed hearing your views on the subject.

Thanks for discussing the subject with me

I think its less of a risk of a seat being empty from a ticket for one game being sold than it sold as part of a mini ST.

I think the way for single tickets to be sold should be sold on some sort of loyalty basis. I think also, tickets should go on sale at the window the same time as on the net or phone so everyone has a more equal chance of getting one.

With games that we know are going to be a low turn out then they should be priced lower, or have cash turnstiles or give tickets to schools.

At the end of the day, we want the ground full for every game regardless of who it is against. Bums on seats makes more money for the club and ensures we get future fans hooked on it. There are probably a million and one ways to ensure it but to me, mini season tickets would only bring in money and nas many bums on seats.

As for touts, well there is talk of the club doing away with tickets and everyone having to use a fan card to swipe in. While that may well be true, the club will still have to issue some sort of ticket so people know the details of where they are sitting. Now once they come out, it'll be them that get copied and sold to fans who dont know better. Uing the card will help combat touts somewhat but it'll also cut down on people getting tickets for others as it means they have to give them the fan card.

Anyway, Im sure the subject will crop up again at some point, maybe even before the new season kicks off and Im sure we'll see what works and what doesnt.

Nice to discuss things properly for once aswell, because if AFII had come out with it Idve just called him a ****.

most probably, maybe even quite soon after submission, depends on how well they are on top of their game. they could wait till its granted permission.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
