    Voronin - The Difference?

Have to admit that I am a little hopeful about Voronin.

This year he has managed 10 goals and 6 assists in just 21 starts. He can play in both midfield and attack, seems like a Luis type player. Except that his work rate is phenomonal a la Kuyt. The key thing I think he can give us is the ability to provide what Kuyt has been providing in that AM role. Not that I think that he will be any better than Kuyt.

BUT, it will allow Kuyt to play up top, where I am convinced he will become a >20 goal a season striker.

    All hail Voronin.

I think he will be a valuable squad member for his versatility if nothing else. I remain shocked by the hostility with which his signing has generally been greeted.

I think we will be pleasantly suprised by his contribution.

BTW Wanna join the fan club. The subs are remarkably reasonable.

You shouldn't be. He will go down as another bad move by rafa IMO, shipped out after his first season. I think describing him as 'pedestrian' is being kind. As usual with our attacking signings, he doesn't have a stand out attribute. The reason its been greeted with such hostility is because he signifies the type of player we should not be bringing to the club and rafa apparently still hasn't learned that. Think Biscan in a forward position, that;s what we have got.

how many times have you watched Voronin play?

Just curious to know why you think we shouldn't be brining in established international players such as Voronin.

I watch a lot of german football as my old man is half german and a munich fan. He looks a decentish player in an average league, nothing more than that. 'Established international', who i guarantee the vast majority (not all) would never have even heard of before last summer. Get all defensive about him if you like, deep down nobody is excited about Voronin, he is a rafa type player for a rafa type system and we all know where that gets us in the premier league.

I'm prepared to see what Rafa does if, and its a big IF, he gets big money to spend. My point is Voronin is so far from the player we need its incredible, and it suggests to me that Rafa hasn't learned from three seasons in English football. He has been like this all through his managerial career...he isnt the man to win Liverpool FC the premiership, end of story.
