he was a free, cant argue with that. plus he scored more goals than the chavs new striker last season. could turn out to be a cult hero, we do need better players to challenge for the title though.

Based on that youtube link SpeedyG, The Crow reminds me of Beardo. His stature, his running style (low centre of gravity), the way he likes to nutmeg players/keepers and the way he smashes the ball in from distance.
It's only YouTube, but it was very reminiscent of Beardo. Not as good as Beardo, but similar.
Crouch and the Crow could be a lethal partnership next season

Did you notice, he scores with his left, right and head. He's a poacher, most of his goals come in the 6YD box, but he can also put them away from the edge of the box. His first touch is nice too. He's made for Liverpool.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostBased on that youtube link SpeedyG, The Crow reminds me of Beardo. In your thread title you said "The Difference"?
The difference between what? Kuyt scoring 12 and 20 a season? Possibly, yes.
The difference between finishing 20 odd points behind the title and winning it, not likely.
So "The" Difference is probably a a bit of a dramatic word to use.
PS Kuyt isn't an attacking midfielder, nor does he play in that osition, he's a striker who plays quite deep and comes deep to get the ball at times, hardly a midfielder.

As with any new signing, I have no doubt that he will be welcomed and backed by the fans who actually go to Anfield. To read the forums sometimes, you'd never think we had a fine tradition of not turning on those who wear our shirt. You don't hear our crowd singling out individuals for abuse or booing the team after a disappointing result.
It saddens me to see that great reputation tainted by people pre-judging a player before he even arrives. His success will be determined by whether he fulfills the role Rafa demands, which I think will be as a squad man, the replacement for Fowler as our fourth striker, hence Robbie's departure. He's unlikely to be the man we need, but I don't think Rafa intends him to be. I might be more concerned if he were intended to play week in-week out, but that was never likely to be the case.Last edited by lfc_michael; 11-06-07, 08:51 AM.

Problem is, as I see it, he was free !Originally posted by dww View PostI think he will be a valuable squad member for his versatility if nothing else. I remain shocked by the hostility with which his signing has generally been greeted.
If he had cost £15mil people would be happy. For me, I wasnt a massive fan of Berbatov when he was at Leverkusen either but now I am!

Just as we think everything will be all right with voronin, he says something like this:
If the quotes are true, and that is indeed his attitude, you can expect a sharpish exit for voronin. There is now way Rafa would tolerate that kind of attitude.Voronin issues warning

New Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin has warned the club he won't be happy with a permanent place on the substitute's bench.
Voronin will officially complete his free transfer move from Bayer Leverkusen when the Reds return to pre-season training.
But amid continued speculation linking Liverpool with a host of strikers from across the continent, the Ukraine international has told boss Rafael Benitez he intends to be a serious contender for a starting berth next season.
Benitez continues to be linked with summer moves for Samuel Eto'o of Barcelona, West Ham's Carlos Tevez plus Fernando Torres from Atletico Madrid.
"I haven't made this decision to just sit on the bench," Voronin told the club's official website.
"I will be coming to get into the team and form a partnership with someone."
Voronin, 27, netted 32 times in 92 appearances for Leverkusen and has previously played for Koln, Mainz and Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

You've obviously read a different article to me! Voronin is showing exactly the right attitude.
I'm starting to think he might just surprise the majority of us on here.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1
