I can´t think of anything that relates to Birmingham, although it´s the second largest city in England isn´t it?
brum have black sabbath, jasper carrot and frank skinner -apart from sabbath i see your point

my point was a footballer wouldn't diss birmingham city cos of birmingham - the surrounding area's are really nice likewise Liverpool.

Both Birmingham and Liverpool have a lot of catching up re Manchester and London

Maybe not. But as a footballer, I would diss the club based on them being poor jo-jo´s between the PL and championship. Playing alongside Jeff Kunningham is probably not that much of attraction.

Still in five-ten years, who knows, they could/should be able to build something solid. But surely, in that time there will be taken some action to level the playing field since these takeovers are getting rather silly and boring!
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Realistically, it would take 3-4 years to build them up into potential challengers.

            1) Get in a couple of International 'has-been names' a la Bolton - to give them some credibility. Of course, you have to offer them some ridiculous wage that they would bite your hand off for considering they are at the end of their career.

            2) Let Bruce stay for another year and then look for a classy International manager who has the vision to turn them into real contenders.

            3) Spend a summer chasing some quality names. Let's say 3 big names who are mates with the 'has-beens.'

            4) Get them to play decent football - thereby exciting all the little kids into actually being interested to watch them. A good cup run (FA or Carling will ensure that people prick up their ears).

            5) When they are breaking into the UEFA spots, inject another 50 million to turn them into CL qualifiers.

            6) Once they are in the CL, they are fair game for most quality players.

            7) Give the manager another 50 - 75 million to bring in some world class talent on bumper salaries.

            8) A good run in the PL and CL will ensure solid revenues and ever increasing fan base (Chelsea)....

            9) Invest in a new state of the art Stadium.

            10) Spend another 50m to push them to PL Champions, a la Chelsea.

You make think it's ludicrous, but for a bloke with 20 billion quid sitting in the bank, spending 500 million over 4 or 5 years - and owning your own Championship winning team would be a cute hobby.

Yeah, maybe in football manager world but it takes more than money to win things in the real world.
