BTW the jury is still out IMO - he looks like he's got the application to be a top player and has shown plenty of 'game intelligence' last season.

I'm really not sure what Kuyt offers us apart from phenomenal work rate. Put it this way, if I was the opposition and I saw Kuyt's name on the team sheet I wouldn't be very worried about him causing us many problems.
Not a Liverpool player. Never was, never will be.

And just because he runs around a lot and throws his shirt into the crowd after every game doesn't make him so.

Don't get me wrong I like his attitude, but bottom line it's about talent, and in that respect he's mediocre.

Considering the other strikers we have at the club now - Crouch, Torres, Voronin and Babel - I want him to sit on the bench a lot this season.

Btw it may be worth baring in mind that Dirk had a very bright start in his FIRST season although at the end of the season he wasn't playing so well could this have been down to the fact that his fathers condition was worsening.

This type of thread is poorly timed the lads father died only a few weeks ago.

Sorry mate I want my centre backs (Carragher) and keepers (Reina) to be "solid", not a ****ing striker.

Fair enough every player should work hard - no complaints about Kuyt here - but as a forward if he scores and creates **** all what's the point?

What I wouldn't give for Robbie Fowler circa 1996.

Kuyt is for me the perfect link between the midfield and attack. I'd like to see him playing just off Torres in a front two in front of Babel, Alonso, Gerrard, and Pennant.

I'll be more specific; he isn't good enough to start regularly for a Liverpool side with ambitions of winning the league.
