Anyone know how Adam Hammill is getting on at Southampton, and Paul Anderson, actually, how have the all started the season? Anyone hear anything?Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Having done a quick google this is what little info I found about Hammill:Originally posted by bazza76 View PostAnyone know how Adam Hammill is getting on at Southampton, and Paul Anderson, actually, how have the all started the season? Anyone hear anything?
He scored for them in his first game in pre-season, got a hatrick the next pre-season game when they won twelve nil to some Skando team. He got sent off for their reserves at some stage, but fortunately they have a different disciplinary system so he wasn't suspended for Championship games. In the Championship and league cup games so far, he's made the bench 3 times, coming on once for 20 minutes as they lost 2-1 to Norwich, and once for half an hour when they got beat 1-4 by Palace.Like blood on iron

hope he manages to nail down a regular spot with them. Not sure what they are doing bringing him on only when they are getting beatten, surely they should be bringing him on when they have a chance to win

Apparently it was a sweet shot that took a deflection of a teammate of Anderson so he didn't get the goal to his nameOriginally posted by SpeedyG View PostClass. Did you see the goal? Was it another volley from just inside the box?
Lampard on the other hand

I've just been checking that myself. I'd turned on the Watford v Southampton game expectantly!Originally posted by ronan View Postis hamill injured?
he has been out of southampton squad for a few weeks now
He was in the provisional squad named a day or so ago and there's no hint on the Southampton website that he was injured since. Looks like he just didn't make the 16. He didn't figure in a recent reserve game so at least he's thought of as first team.
Anderson scored on Friday though that's another division down. They're not exactly setting the world on fire! Guthrie isn't near team when the team is struggling.

Carson - loan to perm move...
Scott Carson has revealed that he feels 'sharper' after feeling the benefits of Aston Villa's physical training regime.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper, who is on loan from Liverpool, explained that at Villa Park each player has their own individually tailored program.
Carson said that after discussions with the sports scientists at the club, the decision was made to emphasise work on his agility and improve his muscle mass.
The Villa shot-stopper insisted that he now feels much sharper, and is hoping to demonstrate his quality in order to break into the England team.
"I feel as sharp as I have ever been and a lot quicker and more agile," he told the Daily Mirror.
"At Liverpool they have a more general system where everyone does the same weight training but here everyone has specific programmes.
"The Villa staff suggested getting my body fat down to get me sharper and I have been at that for a month now and feel really good.
"As a goalkeeper if you are not carrying as much weight and are quicker round the goal you are bound to make more saves that you wouldn't normally.
"I feel sharper in training and am just looking forward to the next few games because it is about trying to make the step up now to the England team.
"But I can only try and do my best for Aston villa and put performances in every week so when I get a chance I will be ready.
"I am just here for the season initially but hopefully if I do well there will be a chance of me staying, as when the contract was done with Liverpool it was a loan with a view to a permanent deal."
Never knew that
