Saw Guthrie on MOTD earlier and he looked to have a decent game...although the highlights were very brief.

Not surprisingly Roberto Martinez has admitted that he wants Liverpool's Paul Anderson to remain a Swansea player once his year long loan deal has expired at the end of the season.
Anderson nabbed yet another goal against Wycombe on Tuesday night to take his tally to 6 for the season and level with Jason Scotland at the top of the Swans' scoring charts. Not bad for a youngster who hasn't yet nailed down the starting place in the Swans line-up that it is easy to argue that he deserves.
And it is that kind of form that is leading Roberto Martinez to wish that he could be able to make the move for the player permanent when the current deal expires come the end of the season. Speaking in today's Evening Post, Roberto said "It's quite clear that someone like Paul Anderson would be a huge asset for us, and if we could afford him, we would like to keep him here full-time.
"We don't know the situation. What we want is for Paul to keep scoring goals, keep enjoying his football and keep progressing.
"If you'd seen him on the day he joined us and you saw him now, you'd know he is a more mature player already.
"He has been a joy to work with and at the moment he is a joy to watch.
"His pace is outstanding and he seems to enjoy playing at home especially. He gets a lift out there.
"But saying all that, I still think he can improve. I still don't think we've seen the best of him.
And that can only be good news for the Swans with Anderson set to feature again in the game at Bournemouth on Sunday. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I'm not sure it is - the problem with the Championship is that it is a very competitive league and skillful players are not protected to the extent they are even in the PL. This often makes it very hard for skillful players to get games at a young age in that division - young players on loan to the Championship are not uncommonly left on the bench most of the time. If they go to that league you have to be very sure of the management/coaching setup to ensure it is a useful experience.Originally posted by Morphorino View PostThe question is what's the next move for Anderson after this season if he continues his impressive form, would it be logical to test him in the championship next season, and not try and push him too much too soon
Obviously a player who is good enough to be challenging for our first team should get into a championship side but the point of a loan is more often to get the player to that standard through experience rather than to check if they are already there."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Shrews and Reds agree Ryan switch
Shrewsbury have agreed to make midfielder Jimmy Ryan's loan move from Liverpool permanent on 1 January.
"Because Jimmy came on a temporary loan, you can only have 93 days playing for a club," Shrews manager Gary Peters told his club's website.
"From today, he will be on loan for another month - after that, he can play in our reserves but not the first team.
"Technically he won't be our player until 1 January, where he can then play first-team football indefinitely."
Ryan has made four league and cup appearances since joining the Shrews in August.

Robbie Threlfall has gone on loan to Hereford, don't know anything more about it, i'd expect it's a short term thing
edit more info
Liverpool defender Robbie Threlfall has joined Hereford United on an initial one month emergency loan.
The 5'8 18 year-old is currently on a three year contract with The Reds and featured during their pre-season tour of the Far East in the Asia Trophy.
Robbie - predominantly a left-back, but who can also be deployed in central defence or on the left-wing - was promoted from Liverpool's academy to the senior set up at Melwood at the start of the 2006/07 season, having played a part in the Anfield club's FA Youth Cup successes in both 2006 and 2007.
A regular in the reserves, Threlfall has appeared for the first-team in a pre-season friendly at Wrexham, whilst he has also made his international debut for England U19s this year against Poland in February.
Threlfall's name featured prominently on television screens at the end of last season for his performance in Liverpool's FA Youth Cup triumph against Manchester United. He was named Man of the Match after scoring in normal time and in the penalty-shootout at Old Trafford as Liverpool overturned the 2-1 defeat they had suffered in the first-leg of the final at Anfield, where Threlfall also scored an own goal.
The youngster joins Hereford on an initial one-month emergency loan, with both first-choice central defenders Dean Beckwith and Karl Broadhurst missing due to injury and suspension respectively.
At present, it is unknown whether Threlfall will be permitted to take part in The Bulls' FA Cup tie against Leeds United on November 9.Last edited by Morph; 30-10-07, 07:58 PM.Thomas Hicks Senior

Lindfield's gone to Notts County.
Notts County have signed striker Craig Lindfield on a month's loan from Liverpool.
The England under-19 international, who was part of the Reds' FA Youth Cup winning side of the last two years, signed his first professional contract at Anfield in the summer but he has yet to make his debut for Rafael Benitez's team.
County boss Ian McParland told the club's official website: "It is no secret that we have not been scoring enough goals this season so hopefully Craig can help us do something about that.
"Liverpool rate him very highly and he also comes very highly recommended by a number of other football people I have spoken to.
"Liverpool have agreed to let him join us because they see it as a key part of his development that he gets a taste of first-team football."Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think this could be the begining of the end for him at LFC, don't think he's got what it takes to make the step upThomas Hicks Senior

Paul Anderson scored another one for Swansea today.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
