According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
Liverpool have seven players out on loan at various parts of the country at the moment. Here's how they are getting on.
Scott Carson
Scott had an impressive debut for Aston Villa during Saturday's goalless draw at Newcastle United and made several good saves.
Godwin Antwi
The Ghanaian centre half is currently out on a season long loan at League One side Hartlepool United. Godwin scored for Hartlepool on Saturday with a header in the 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers. He has played three games so far for Danny Wilson's side.
Danny Guthrie
Danny is currently with Sammy Lee's Bolton Wanderers but has yet to make a senior appearance for the struggling side.
Adam Hammill
Adam came on as a 71st minute substitute for Southampton in their 2-1 defeat by Norwich City at the weekend. The winger has made two substitute appearances for George Burley's side so far, and is pushing hard for a place in the starting line-up when the Saints host Stoke City on Saturday.
Paul Anderson
The winger marked his first start for Swansea City with a fantastic goal during the midweek 2-0 win over Walsall in the Carling Cup. He made his Swans debut as a substitute during the 2-1 opening day defeat by Oldham, but missed Saturday's goalless draw with Nottingham Forest with a hamstring strain.
Lee Peltier
Lee played the full 90 minutes for Yeovil Town on Saturday in their 1-0 win over Port Vale in League One. Peltier has played in all of Yeovil's three matches so far in central midfield.
James Smith
The Liverpool born defender is currently on loan at League Two side Stockport County. He played the full 90 minutes in County's 1-1 draw at Chesterfield on Saturday. Smith has played in all of Stockport's three games so far.
Liverpool defender Godwin Antwi could face up to four weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury while on-loan at Hartlepool.
Antwi, who joined Hartlepool on a season-long loan from Liverpool in the summer, picked up the problem in Saturday's 2-1 win over Doncaster.
The centre-back had headed in Hartlepool's opener at Victoria Park, but he was then forced off after straining his hamstring with 15 minutes remaining.
Hartlepool manager Danny Wilson has confirmed the injury, but he is hopeful Antwi will not be out of action for too long.
"With a hamstring problem you're usually looking at three to four weeks," Wilson told Hartlepool's official website.
"We'll see how he progresses and we're hoping it'll be sooner, but who knows?
"It's a bit of a blow, but we have a great squad and this is the type of reason that we carry the squad that we are doing."
Besian Idrizaj has joined CP for the rest of the season.
A good move IMO. He`s nowhere near a game for us, and this will give him Championship experience.
I'm sure it's probably just a coincidence but it's funny that when you look at our loaned out players they make up a complete 11. I'm asuming we won't find a buyer for Le Tallec and that he'll have to go on loan again more to the pity.
I think the Guthrie to Bolton deal looks like being a bad one. Can't see him getting much playing time there.
I think it is a good one actually. Sammy Lee is trying to play good football and at this stage of his career Guthrie either has to be able to force his way into an aging Bolton side or looking to play at a lower level. It is a handy barometer for us as to whether he is worth persevering with.

Le Mans left it late on transfer deadline day to sign Anthony Le Tallec from Liverpool on a season-long loan.
The 22-year-old French forward, who was farmed out by the Reds to Sochaux last term, completed the switch to the Stade Omnisports Leon Bollee late on Friday evening.
Les Manceaux have the option of making the deal permanent at the end of the season.
Le Tallec faced the prospect of limited football at Anfield this season under Rafael Benitez.
