        Since the dawn of football time we have been calling the upper part of the kit (note that I did not use the Americanism "uniform") a shirt, not a "jersey". A jersey to anyone who speaks English outside North America is an entirely different beast.

            Maverick my friend, a lot of the time the sponsor actually determines what colour goes on the jersey regardless of right or wrong. They are only concerned about the best visibility.

                  Carlsberg as a brand and logo only ever use white or green, its important to their corporate ID and more than likely in the sponsorship contract

                      true BUT that did not stop the MIGHTY REDS ruling the league back in the late 80's
                      Remember 87-88 with that team KING KENNY assembled, they wore the classic grey/red shirt, lost 2 matches all season in the league and had it wrapped up by early April
