Well, here we go again, the new jerseys are ready to go and I have had a sneak preview. Unfortunately diplomacy prevents me from showing any pictures or photos, but I have held all 3 (yes 3!) new jerseys.
So if you're interested in a word description please read on. It's cool if you don't believe me, it's entirely up to you, but here we go...
I am excited
2 out of 3 jerseys are very cool.
Home Jersey
Obviously the standard beautiful red colour. The neck is a very nice white V Neck (not too deep and not too wide) with a red border at the top coming down just around the shoulder area. In the back neck on the inside, there is a red and white check like the check you would see on a flag on a Magical European Cup night, with This Is Anfield printed on and just above it the Liver Bird in the Oval as per the 60's shirts badge. There will also be a red and white check at the hem of the jersey just on the inside and there is also some nice print detail within the fabric that give it a nice body looking shape around the side rib area (this is printed for the Replica, but the actual game shirt has a different material). The badge is embroidered (although this was the game shirt I believe the replica will also be embroidered) and there are the 3 white stripes on the sleeve. All in all, this is the best home jersey I have seen for many a long day
Away Jersey
Yes, its back!!! The Candy Grey/Silver is back There is also a shiny and dull check throughout the fabric again like the flag mentioned above. The neck is a crew neck with Red Border around the top half but Grey/Silver around the rest. There are 3 Red Stripes on the sleeves and again an embroidered logo. The shirt is lovely.
3rd Jersey
The most disappointing one. Similar in colour to the old Green adidas jersey with the 3 stripes over the shoulder. The neck is a crew with a collar in black. I actually didn't like this jersey so couldn't really be bothered to look at it in great detail.
I also saw the other jerseys coming through from the other clubs and I can tell you that we have a different jersey to everyone else, and not a mass produced design. Ours were the best (apart from the 3rd kit), and Chelski have been given a collar on their new home kit.
I did ask why we couldn't have the old single Liver Bird as the badge, and was told that the club supply the design and this is what they want to go with. The fan wear looks pretty good, and this has the yellow Liver Bird on.
Finally there is a Gerrard Collection which looks ok.
Hope that's enough for you to imagine what we will look like next season, hopefully as the defending champions
