Yeah the ticket office is at Anfield but I thought you were referring to the online system only, which I would expect to be hosted somewhere else.

CITY politicians are set to lease a slice of historic Stanley Park, paving the way for work to start on a new stadium for Liverpool FC early in 2007.

It means the club could host the first game at its new home at the start of the 2009 season, a report to Liverpool City Council's executive board reveals.

I would think planning permission would be the main reason why we haven't gone for a bigger stadium. Planners have to consider many factors, probably one of the main ones being how people get to and from the stadium, where they park etc.

Liverpool FC will have done loads of research into this I imagine. They'll have a very good idea as to how many people will actually go to matches. What we don't know is if they were limited by this, or by planning permission.

Anyway, this is good news in general. I'll probably get to a lot more matches for a start!
