Aye, I was at both legs. That night at Bramall Lane was like going to a match in the 70s or summat. We saw one group of Blades walk past us down some side street, one of them blatantly carrying a bat. Ridiculous. Evil atmosphere. We had tickets in the 'Family Stand' but we ran the gauntlet all through the first half and finally badgered a steward into letting us into our end behind the goal at half-time.

In the return leg it went off inside and outside Arkles like I've not seen it go off near the ground for years. We walked up Utting Ave to be met by some ****ing wild scenes.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

i dabbled a bit in the mid to late 70s no big deal though the trouble was usually caused by the lifters to direct attention so while you battling like fuk they went off and robbed everything, i remember a southampton fan quivering behind a bill poster once not through fear but because they had stripped him down to his underwear because he came to the match all designerd up, i was only a kid but i remember the arsenal v the scum game at anfield being an eye opener, they had alloted the kop to the utd fans and there was no way we were going to let that happen( hark at me i was 15 years old ran with the crowd and was ****ting myself that night)dont see it anymore though maybe because im not looking thank fuk.

Yeah, it still happens but not at the matches and never at Anfield. There was a big 'off' at Salford a couple of seasons back with United and 600 of their 'MIB' were ****ted all over Everton Valley by a joint L'pool & Blue****e mob in April 2005.
