So it is -4 points in the league...

The fact that when Torres plays Liverpool always won, even if he didn't score (and apart of the Rob Styles decision); does it mean that the obstinate Rafa not to start with him in the league in the last 2 games that we could really have grabbed 6 points?

Rush said that it was tactical move to leave Torres on the bench; I don' t agree. Torres is a special player. He should play in the league and not in the league cup if Rafa really wants to win the premier league.

He had plenty of space last night and rightly flourished so Rafa's point about lack of space (against Brums) is a valid one. Nonetheless, I think he's by far our most potent weapon alongside Steven Gerrard and I even think that they should be paired together upfront. They linked superbly for 15 mins last night.

Kuyt and Crouch are toothless at the moment, as for Voronin, he needs more time to make his stamp.

Torres should be playing every game. He played near enough every game for Athletico for a few seasons. Agree with Fredo about him and Stevie upfront, looks pretty damn good togehter, and that through ball for the third was class, more of the same against Wigan on saturday please.
      Justice for the 96

Rush was only repeating what Rafa has said countless times about why he left Torres on the bench. Perhaps Rafa did get it wrong. Indeed, maybe Statler and Waldorf have got the wrong man in the job and should sack the Spaniard then appoint someone who is obviously a better Manager than Benitez and will play Torres in every league game. Like Sam Allardyce. Or you...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

Are you saying that you don't think it was a tactical decision, or do you disagree with the tactics?
              Oh I don't know.

You just gotta be ****ing kidding me with this ****e, Frodo. Torres can't operate without space? We don't have a single player more capable than Torres upfront.

When Rafa takes a dump in your mouth you ask for seconds?

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

The facts are that while Rafa is a good manager in cup competitions he still has not proved himself in the premiership.

So if you are happy seeing Torres on the bench resting in the league so that he can show his talent in the carling cup then something is wrong.

I cannot imagine ferguson resting rooney in the league; wenger also rarely rested henry in the 2003-04 season, he rested him in the carling cup.

Only the birmingham and portsmouth defence were happy not seeing Torres in the starting line up ... and perhaps you.

I think it's perfectly normal that Torres was rested against Pompey, he carried a knock into the international games (a hip injury) and played both games for Spain. I think itwould have been a big risk playing him against the Pompey thugs!
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

the difference between kuyt/crouch and torres is everytime the latter receives the ball all he's got in mind is moving towards goal while especially crouch slows our attack up by playing the ball backwards more often than not.
when torres came on against birmingham we looked much more dangerous, end of. granted, he was anonymous to say the least against porto.
if torres is rested for our next league because he played 90 mins during the week then i'll start to doubt rafa...

As much as a i respect Rafa, the whole not having space excuse is bull****. For whatever reason he rates Voronin far too highly which pisses me off.

Torres should have played on saturday and rested last night. I couldnt care less about the carling cup, its just not important. Winning that micky mouse cup could cost us a league title. Playing Carragher and Torres in that when they should be rested for the next 3 games is not clever

He played 40 games a season for Atletico. Expecting him to start 50 or 60 suddenly isnt a good idea is it.
