That is the thing. I think he is trying to get the players to play a certain way but they are not responding.

There can be many reasons for this but IMO none of us can really tell why so for me Rafa gets the benefit of the doubt.

I dunno what doubt there is mate.

It's the MANAGER'S responsibility to get the players playing how he wants them to, to get them motivated and up for it.

I see little evidence of it at the moment.

The buck stops with the manager.

I said they were comfortable.

And they were, we lacked pace and tempo, rarely created any real chances and only in the last 10 mins or so, did we give their keeper much to worry about.

I agree we're better than that, but we are not PERFORMING like we're better. What's it down to? Confidence? Motivation? Team selection? Tactics?

Whatever one of them it is, it's the manager's responsibility.

The thing is I am very confident that we will be in the knock out stages we have 1 away game and 2 home games left we will win all three. If this was a league game or FA or league cup I can understand why people are so mad, we still have a chance!!!!

All I am saying is that there can be many things influencing the players. And very much so at a club like Liverpool witch used to be the best and is trying for a long time to get back to that. And Rafa may not control all of them.

I am however sure he is trying to get the control he needs at the club and still belive that he can.

It is also worth mentioning that not all the players look like they lack confidence. IMO if we had better players then Pennant, Voronin, Kuyt and maybe better attacking fullbacks we would have walked this game tonight.
