If Luis had been gifted that chance Voronin had in the first half (which was cleared just in front of goal) he would have snapped it up no problem. Or when the ball broke for Pennant in the second half, Pennant seemed miles behind the play. Luis would have been waiting for a break like that and would have made something of it.

For me Luis was always played in the wrong position, he is not a winger but a support striker, his goal instinct was/is better then Crouch/Kuyt and Crow, almost Fowler like.

He was frustrating though, how many times did his passes go awry? What i liked about him is that he tried, tried and tried more.

BUT now that he's gone i think people think he is better then what he actually was.
      We come not to play.

I agree he was better "in the hole" than on the wing where he was less involved but I don't just remember him through rose-tinted glasses. I genuinely believe he was one of Rafa's best signings and I was sorry to see him go. Matches like last night were made for him...

yeah there were people on here that slaughtered him when we had a bad game.

people saying he wasnt good enough for LFC. now they all bang on like he was the messiah.

our general team play is whats at fault at the moment. you can single out players but 1 on his own doesnt make a difference when you have 6 players off form.

mate I've never slagged him off, I accepted that he could frustrate and be brilliant in equal measures. I m not even saying he's the messaih or the solution to all our problems, What I said was that in a match like last nights he would have made the difference and is a cut above a lot of theforwards we have at the moment.

Whatever Pako told our players to do in training was right. Whatever Rafa tells them it is wrong. Obviously

...and by the same token, he would have given the ball away ten times, from which the opposition would have broke seven times, and scored at least once.

My immediate recollections of Garcia are generally bad ones....

He was also our best header, excellent skill in the air. That includes Sami.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

As frustrating as i found him, i would have him over any of our so called second strikers, he was a match winner, Kuyt and Crow are match wasters.
                                We come not to play.
