    Jamie Carragher

After watching JC closely for the last month he seems to be really sruggling for breath a lot. If you watch him after he's had to run and clear the ball you'll often see him bent double trying to get his breathe back.

He's never been lightning quick anyway but the pneumothorax he suffered from earlier in the season really seems to be taking it's toll on him and especially since he's been playing next to Sami.

Are there any medical types on here who know whether the effects of a punctured lung can last long term or whether he just needs a bit of a rest when Agger gets back?

He just gives his all and makes up for his lack of speed with his sheer determination each time and that probably makes him go a little bit farther than most players.

His pneumotorax may not have helped also.

Since Pako left, his fitness work is now being done by Stephane Henchoz's personal trainer. There's your answer!

I don't think it's an issue but of course i'm not a doc, I just think he's having to cover more ground because of playing alongside hyypia and that'd knacker anyone

If you count in Riise then he must cover a lot of space.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If you looked at Henchoz when he played you'd think he would drop death with all his facial expressions

His cheeks always looked like a smacked arse as well. As his stamina diminished, Henchoz should have dropped back to goalkeeper to extend his career.

He always looked fooked even after 5 minutes, that was just the way he was as he said himself

Carra has not been the player we have been used to seeing this season, was hoping it was just early season dip in form, not that he is playing terrible or anything.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

To be fair. He has been outstanding the last two, three seasons. I don't think any player can play season after season without having a dip in form.

I completely agree with this. He had a poor ending to the season with the champions league final where I think he had a hand in both the milan goals and he has started this season in the same vein.

His handball v villa, the first goal v besiktas - its just not like carra. He's always the first name on the teamsheet and gives 100%. He seems to be a little bit jittery these days and the calmness looks to be missing from his play.

But there's no-one else id rather have marshalling our defence than carra.
