Lahm, yes possibly but like the majority of people on here (despite their wild claims), I don;t see enough of him playing his club football. Stick Riise's best bits on Youtube and he'd worth 40m aswell!
The others may be better defensively OR offensively but not both.

And if you're going to criticise his goal threat based on recent form then maybe we should sell the whole squad!

But his goal threat is supposed to be his strength. He can't even hit the target anymore. For someone who takes as many shots as he does, he should at least get one or two on target.

I disagree of your assesment of the players I listed. I think they are better in both areas

For the first time in ages I feel the need to defend Finnan, normally the internet is awash with Finnan is the greatest RB in the world type posts and I'm not sure he has been performing that much worse of late.

I'm not of the opinion that he is a world beater but he is certainly one of the best rightbacks in the PL. He has limitations in teh air and in terms of bursting past the midfield but he is a good tackler, solid positionally and his possession passing is decent and his crossing, particularly from deep is a real asset at times.

Riise is increasingly showing his limitations but I can't help feeling that a good part of the problem is that Carra and Hyypia are looking tired and putting extra strain on the fullbacks.

It's not an original thing to say but missing out on Heinze has been a big loss for us. While I rate Aurelio there was never a chance we could rely on him being fit and Arbeloa is a tidy player but much more suited to the right.

I don't see what's wrong with Finnan myself too. He's played well enough lately, his old consistent self.

alves definetely, bridge quite possibly but with micah richards i'd be tempted to convert him to centre half...looks like he could be a rock at the back for us.

Richards has to be got in the summer couldnt stand if Manure got him, i've a feeling they'll be looking for him to replace Neville, Chelski will look for him as well they dont have a first rate right back with Belletti and Paolo Ferreria but they would like Alves or Richards.

So i dont know if we could compete with them, Arsenal looked settle and dont need a right back but has said he'd like to play for them.

If we got him it would be a great signing

Yup, he's not Flamboyant right back like Alves, but he does his job well, suffers alot because our winger arent great
