i have only found a few cities in the UK to rival Cardiff for a night out.

cardiff is a ****hole, i had the misfotune of visiting a place in wales called sengenneth?

you obviously haven't! cardiff is a superb place, especially down on cardiff bay. And just a short 10 minute walk away are the areas of splott and bute where you can pick up some rather fine ladies of the night! ...so i'm told.

Bristol is very good for a night out aswell but I suppose it's like any city - there are going to be really good areas and really bad areas. If you only ever go the city centres of major cities then you're going to miss out on the best bits. Take bristol for example - the city centre is just chav central...fights and aggro all the time courtesy of the under 18s usually. But take a walk to Park Street, Whiteladies Road or Clifton Village and it's a totally different atmosphere/scene altogether.
Just to contradict myself, Birmingham and Nottingham really are dire places!

Yes, I'd say nights-out are comperable. Heaving bars and a guaranteed fight

I prefer the trendier parts of town, so Clifton in Bristol. Quite liked the Albert Dock.
