I'd hate for Momo to go. Give him at least a couple more years, what's the big deal if we do?
he has tried to add an attacking style to his game this season and it seemed to be coming together in the Sunderland game, but as you say it maybe more down to being consistentfor Momo.

One or two games aside his passing has been really good this season. I'd rather give him a couple of more seasons to see what level he finishes at than get 10m in the short-term. If he fulfills his potential he could easily be the best CM at the club.

Let's face it, 22 is a kid from someone playing CM.

Because playing him means we won't be playing one of our other 4 midfielders, and will especially hinder the playing time of Lucas.

He's been here for a couple of years and has regressed, it shouldn't be THAT difficult to pass a ball five yards to another player. He hasn't got a great football brain and never will - theres no point in wasting anymore time on him.

He's not going to want to stay and play a handful of games and I wouldn't really want Lucas and Guthrie (who I think going to be a good player) to miss out games because Rafa was playing his rotation hand again and giving Momo his share.

Guthrie is not in the same league as Momo!

Fair play to Momo...he knows his place in the pecking order, and isnt b'sing about his ability.

That's a fair comment at the moment but they're very different players.

Either way, if they stay at Liverpool they'll be 4th/5th choice to play in the middle and personally I'd like to see Guthrie get the occasional chance. I've got this feeling about him that he's going to be a really good player in the future.

Momo's career has stalled after a great start at the club and it doesn't look as though he will become as good a player as initially anticipated (although without question he is a confidence player).

Guthrie, on the other hand, looks to be getting better all the time (albeit steadily) and may be a decent option in a season or two.

Gotta disagree with you here, his passing in general has been woefull this season, and this is exactly what he needs to work on. I guarantee if his passing wasn't so wayward then people wouldn't be calling for him to be sold, he does everything else well, we know he can't hit a barn door, but we've always known that and don't expect it. For me he's played about 2 decent games this season, the Sunderland one and I think the other I recall was toulouse 2nd leg

It doesnt do Momo any favours that Rafa plays him further forward in the team and that only highlights how seriously limited he is.
If he was employed in the Mascher role, to get his foot in, break up play and to all intents and purposes stop our opponents playing then i think he would fare better. Not that he is close to being as good as Mascher in that role, but he would be excellent cover.

I don't think he can be cover for that role because he hasn't got anywhere near the discipline required to hold the midfield. Too much of a headless chicken.

Thought it was a much more polished performance from Sissoko individually today. He didn't do anything great. No one did today tbh but his passing was much much better, he only gave the ball away once or twice notably which was a great improvement. If he can start getting into full flow and maintaining then improving upon that passing I see no reason why he can't be a useful player.
