It's baffling really:

1. Rafa took off Benayoun, our only creative player, yet kept Kuyt in the team.

2. He only made 2 subs, with Lucas on the bench waiting for a chance while watching Sissoko and Mascherano struggle to string a couple of passes together.

I actually thought he would play Lucas from the start and let him have a go at Blackburn. Seeing that he is energetic, can pass and tackle and has a decent shot on him.

I'm getting pretty ****ed off with Rafa now and it's about time he said publicly how **** some of his players are performing.

I feel sorry for the commentators. They arent watching the game out of love for either team. They sounded like they had to force themselves to try and talk, so bored they were. I think the rubics cube guy solved his puzzle and left during half time since his main source of entertainment was done.

Well we did, and I can't say I was that surprised. Four games with Kuyt up top on his own now and the only time we scored was in the 87th minute in Athens and that was with Crouch on. As it was today, when Crouch came on we looked more likely to score.

This tactic didn't work against a truly awful Man City side last season so I'm not sure what made Rafa think it would work today against a fairly solid Blackburn team. But then again I've given up trying to work out Rafa's tactics, at least with Houllier we had Owen so we knew that there was always a chance of nicking something. These days we have Gerrard but it's harder for him as he doesn't quite have the pace or the 1on1 finishing quality of Owen, plus he sort of needs someone to help create the chance.
