Who still has faith in Kuyt?

Just a poll to find out the general feeling of the fans.

What should Kuyt's role be? (assume another striker could be brought in in Jan)

Problem is, Voronin isnt good enough and Crouch is only good enough because Voronin and Kuyt are rubbish...

As things stand, Kuyt should be 4th choice striker. If we were able to buy 2 new strikers, then Kuyt needs to be ditched.

      He's ****ing rubbish.

In fairness, I don't think he's *quite* as bad as he's shown this season. He's got no confidence, but the ****e he's served up this season has been appalling - and this was the season he was supposed to show us all how ace he is.

        Completely agree.

Kuyt is not only a poor player, he is also in poor form. On current showing he should not be in the starting line-up. If he plays on Tues against the Turks then I really will be worrying about Rafa.

Bar Torres - Rafa is not very good at buying attacking players. This is a pointless thread, we all knew he wasn't good enough after his first season.

True enough. He wasn't so woeful last season was he? If Rafa persists in playing him ahead of Crouch then it could end up being the albatross around Rafa's neck a la Houllier and Diouf.

See, this is what i'm on about, when i have a go at Rafa for buying 4 average players instead of one CLASS player.

                  Kuyt, Morientes, Crouch - £23m

                  Torres - about £20m

                  It's not rocket science.

You'd be surprised. At the start of this season and even up to just over a month ago, people were singing his praises.

The fact is that the main thing that separates top teams from the rest is what they can do in the final third, and with Kuyt, it isn't much.

It's worth remembering Crouch and Kuyt linked up to good effect last season, winning 12 of 15 games they started together. Crouch created a few goals for Kuyt with flicks or passes and Kuyt repaid that a couple of times. Not exactly the fastest front-line in the world but still reasonably effective.

In my view Kuyt can be a solid player if he's not asked to do things beyond him like play as a right / left winger, as an extra midfielder or up top on his own. Far too often last season alongside Bellamy and this season alongside Torres and Voronin he's ended up being everywhere but where it matters i.e. in the box sniffing around goal. The odd time he has he's popped up with a goal, like against Toulouse or away to Porto.

3rd choice, but needs a goal.

I have been saying the same for 7 years even under GH. We always seem to buy too many ****e...

Rafa has paid millions on Babel and Benayoun this sumemr for example - he could have bought Quaresma for that.

I've put 4th choice. He showed enough for that last season.

To be fair to him, hes just lost his dad, so he aint gonna be in a mental state, but that is why Rafa should bench him/put him in the ressies cos this extended run with no results is doing neither him nor the team any good whatsoever. At least when Crouch didnt score for ages he was setting others up, but Kuyt os often getting in their way FFS.
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I actually think Benayoun looks a decent signing now, i wasnt happy when we bought him, but he's an intelligent FOOTBALLER. Not an impact player, but a good footballer.

Babel is an impact player and deserves time.
