    Kia: Liverpool have Mascherano option
    tribalfootball.com - November 06, 2007

Liverpool have been assured they have first refusal on midfielder Javier Mascherano.
Kia Joorabchian, the head of the company that owns Mascherano's "economic rights", says Liverpool secured first refusal on the Argentina midfield player when they signed him on an 18-month loan.

"Liverpool do have first option," he said.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Back inside Anfield, it was little surprise to see Liverpool's chief executive, Rick Parry, chatting intently to Mascherano's "owner", Kia Joorabchian.

Having paid a fee of £1.5 million for an 18-month rental period of Mascherano, Liverpool will need to pay Joorabchian £17 million to make the deal permanent.

It's a no brainer this one surely but, out of interest, how long is Mascherano tied in for with Joorabchian ?

I thought I'd seen the master of the DM position in Hamann; but Mascherano is even better. Which is high praise.

So Kia Joorabchian was at Anfield last night then..If that's the case, surely he was there trying to sort out his clients's contract? I'm slowly beginning to get very worried about the fact that Mascherano has not yet been signed up. Word has it that Barcelona and Milan are pulling out all the stops to get their mits on him.

Not surprising though. ANY top side in the world would take him. There isn't a side who wouldn't have him, IMO.

He is the best holding midfielder in the world, even better than Barca's Xavi.

He can also move one step higher up the pitch and play as a central midfielder without any problem.

Just like Stevie G, eh? Trust me on this - there are NO guarantees that Mascherano will stay with us.
