I think with the new businessmen in charge we wont be as prone to the normal end of season **** ups we are well used to, as such I can see Masch signing a monster new deal a little while into the new year. That's nonsense. The player is the one who decides if timing is an issue.
The player wants his future sorted out now, which is his perogative.
He has a wife and young child and not unreasonably would like to know where his future lies. If we don't secure him very soon, he will listen to offers from other HUGE clubs who will offer him the earth. It's that simple.

We need to sort it out now. He is not going to wait until deadline day. Parry should have sorted it out this week - the player wants to sign, Rafa wants him to sign and Joorabchian is happy to let us have him for the right price. We have the money too.

If the club don't get their finger out asap, we will have Stevie G mark II, except without any change of heart. Mascherano will walk, Joorabchian will get more cash from another club, Rafa will be seething and we will have lost out on a world class player who is worth much more than we would need to pay to get him.

So do you think that it is arrogance on the part of the club or that we are trying to be to allow ourselves financial leeway to do other business in January?

Not sure that is the case anymore. Rafa had a big moan about how long negotiations took in the summer and it seems like G&H took that on board and our business was much quicker this year. We pretty much had everyone on board b4 preseason training did we not?

Mind you thinking back, maybe we missed out on Malouda because of that, I think that is what triggered Rafa's moan. TBH I think we did better getting babel instead.

Don't think his source comes into it. To me we have El Jefecito tied up until the end of the season. Given we have first option, we don't need to do anything until his loan agreement runs out, and for the reasons I outlined earlier we WILL sign him up.
