Why would they turn down us for a difference of something like £50m-£75m? It wasn't that big difference between the bids.

DIC offered £220m if I remember things right and G&H bought the club for £280m.

That's very, very little money for DIC when you think off the profit they would have made in the future.

If you don't keep honest with them then they will **** off and withdraw or don't better any bid. If it would have come out that you can **** them around then it would cost them a lot more in the future than the profit they would do when they would have sold us a few years later.

Their business reputation is worth very much when you consider how much big business they are involved in.

see, others claim the sheiks had plans to sell the club within 7 yrs. how would anyone not directly involved whether they harboured such sinister plans? now, it's all fair and well to argue to parry had some kind of hidden agenda to presuade moores to sell to the yanks - fact is they've had their reasons and for some time fans seemed happy enough to accept it as the best option.

Rashid is many things but a bull ****ter I don't think is one of them. I don't think he would lie about a club he clearly feels passionately about even if that passion IMO is sometimes mis guided.

Anyway he contacted Bascombe and Chris apparently has told him that Parry wanted Rafa out after Athens and he got the yanks on side however Parry thought it would be better to sit tight and let Rafa hang himself. It makes perfect sense to me starve Rafa of communication frustrate him knowing what he is like and wait for him to blow. They now have their excuse to sack him.

I e-mailed Tony Barrett of the echo yesterday and got a reply I've also e-mailed that cunt Danny Fulbrook (sp) of the star when he said Gerrard should leave Liverpool and got a reply.

It's all very well putting a positive spin on things mate but there are clearly troubles at the club. How do you think these stories get leaked? They aren't all made up and as Brian Reade almost said last night the Bascombe story at the weekend was leaked by Parry Hicks and Gillett himself.

Maybe just maybe what's being said by everyone is actually true and that they are about to sack Rafa however I'm sure you will be positive about that as well. I'm not having a pop I'm just saying most fans at the min aren't very happy with what's going on and are very worried indeed.

I have not been positive anywhere, I am just saying people should stop and breath a while as we are all reacting to gossip and nothing else. Are we supposed to believe that Brian reade was in a meeting with G&H along with Parry when he got all his info. He didn't say it because he has no proof that they think that.

Parry was also responsible for not contacting DIC when G&H made their bid. We had promised to keep DIC informed about any rival bid but we only did that when the G&H deal was more or less done and dusted.

Nice way to do business by Parry, or maybe not.

I can understand the reaction from DIC.

It doesn't however make sense that the owners would be wanting to sack Rafa and then trust his judgement on a raw and untried player like Babel to the tune of £11m. So at the very least I think the timing of getting G&H on side has to be much more recent.

I would also be surprised if G&H were so easily swayed by him unless they were (or at least one or other of them was) already unconvinced.

Doesn't mean that there isn't some truth in the rumour just that it is always a game of chinese whispers to an extent for all but those involved.

It's plauible. Why is Parry staying silent?..........when one of the sunday rags ran the story about hicks and gillett falling out Parry went public to deny it within 24hours.......whats stopping him now unless he wants rafa gone!!

my take on parry is this
when foster gillett was brought to the club to learn the day to day running of the club rafa started to bypass parry and go straight to the source as its no secret that the 2 dont get along.
when foster went home last month for whatever reason he was back to dealing with parry again and that was the crux and start of the current situation.
i dont understand why no one is asking where is foster gillett and why it is all hicks making the statements and not his father.especially as he was the origonal bidder.

A very good source (infact you can't get better) has told me that the problem started when Parry complained about Rafa doing his job and going behind the club's back to do deals.
