He puts "mystified" in quotes in the headline (or the sub editor did) yet there is no quote in the article relating to Kuyt.

So this article means nothing really.

I think you are giving credit to the wrong person there....

The story originated from Dave on TLW, and it was pretty much agreed that we had been negotiating with him and his agent and that he had been to the stadium for talks etc.

I believe it might be his dodgy knee(s) that have put pay to the deal, or maybe Rafa is holding off until the Alves deal sorts itself out.
