I don't think Gillett or Hicks know what happens when they sack a popular football manager.

In the US they can sack a manager and replace him with another one without that much fuss, that's just a part of the business.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Can anyone imagine Mourinho standing for the sort of interfering from the owners that Rafa has put up with - I mean thats the main reason he left Chelsea.

I hope to god that if thats the way things are looking then tonights support from the fans will change their minds.
What if the owners backed Mourinho though?

this is what happens when you sell out.

I think this is very true.

not different to any other top manager in that sense.
I do remember him saying he didn't like working with big squads...which contributed to his lack of success last season when they had a run of injuries.

                            unfortunately this is true.

I spent some time in spain and one of my friends went on to work for la marca magazine and he mailed me this morning to confirm this story. He also told me that Benitez has already been sounded out about a move back to Real Madrid and that he didnt say no - but he didnt say yes either. Apparently Rafa really does have a deep love of liverpool and more than anything the fans. His family are also well settled on merseyside.

He believes that the owners want to get rid of benitez as soon as possible and that he thinks that if we lose tonight he will be gone by the end of the week.

the only difference with his story is that it wont be paco taking over but kenny dalglish until the end of the season and then Mourinho will be our next manager.

I dont know what the hell is going on anymore...

Rick Parry is also delighted at the news.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
