Very true, but thats the beauty of having a whole squad full of quality players, the players you bring on have the class to cause damage to tiring defences. He did get his substituions spot on last night though.

          no no no!
Dont be stupid, when Rafa makes subs like this it simply means he got it wrong in the first place and had the players started we would have won easily.

Or at least thats what the cuntries press make out.

It is interesting to see how much more effective Crouch has been from the bench of late. He has really stepped up how he seems to effect games in that way. Obviously he has been playing well in general but last season he looked a much less confident player when coming on late in a game.

I still find the fact that you know every game there will be a sub between 60 and 65 minutes oddly comforting and on occasion mildly amusing.

Nothing to do with this thread but a lot of people dont seem to release that Rafa is literally one the top 5 Managers in the world right now. Stop and think about that for a moment, the man knows what he is doing.

It used to be between 65-70 minutes, lately he seems to have been bringing them on a few minutes earlier, but yes he is amusingly structured with this substitutions.

Babel is turning into the new Super Sub. His speed directed at a defence which has often been tired out following Kuyt's relentless efforts is a real threat.

The most important thing is that we have a range of players who can not only have an impact when they come on but can change the way we attack without altering our system. If Pennant was fit as well we would have an almost complete set of options to choose from both in starting XI and subs. My only worry is that sometime Kewell will get injured and the lovely balance we can have at the minute will be lost.
