He's no more than a squad player in my eyes, and with Babel, Benayoun and Kewell ahead of him for the wings positions he'll struggle to play regularly.

If we can get a good price (i.e. £5+) then I'd want to sell him in the summer.

Simply not good, and clinical, enough for us if we have aims to challenge for the title. Doesn't score goals, his final ball lacks consistency and quality, and holds onto the ball too long when an early ball would be more effective.

      Strongly disagree.
Pennant is not a good little player.

he has lots of stamina and can run, but what's the point of trying to beat the same person twice whenever you dribble, and then get tackled, loose the ball or not manage to put in a decent cross.

The first part of the game is there, but he doesn't have the technical skill, cool head or vision to apply part 2, 3 or 4.

I also could not see him making many apremiership team, because he just is average at absolute best!

Pennant is a good player he has been good for over a year now even though people don't like to admit it, he played bad in his last few games for us and I think that was cause he was playing through the pain.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Stop talking out your arse If this was true not only would Pennant have left it would be all over the newspapers. Remember in International break a few months ago it was in the papers that Pennant had been out on the lash in Bournemouth and told someone to **** off in a kebab house??

I agree with El Diego. To be fair, Pennant was awful during the early part of last season, but improved considerably after November. I thought his preseason form was excellent, he put in some very good performances during the first few games, and I'm willing to chalk up his loss of form to playing through the pain barrier.

He'll never be a world beater, but he doesn't deserve the bollocking he gets from some on this forum. I am convinced that it will take a major cash outlay to get a winger we know will be better than Jermaine.

Agree 100% Pennant is not a world beater but at the moment I can't think of anyone we could buy for 15-20 million that would do a better job that him Quesesma (however you spell his name) is ****ing a ****e version of Ronaldo.

The problem for Pennant is that it now look likes Rafa play 4-2-3-1 very often. Pennant isn't an attacking midfielder. He is a wide player. Our fullbacks is now providing the width.

                          I can't see him fit in, in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 system.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
