To me Hick's is backing Rafa and saying "OK lets move on". He's hardly going to come out and say "Rafa's job was never and will never be in danger and he can be as rude and insubordinate as he likes in public and his job will still always be safe"

It was Rafa that made it all public by going into a public sulk and now he's backed down. I'm glad he did because it would be a disaster if he got fired but he had to back down because it was him that was wrong and Hicks couldn't let him get away with it as if nothing had happened.

Now if you ask me whether Rafa was right to be angry with their stance, based on what I understand from public knowledge, I would say absolutely. Do I 100% back him and want him to stay and be in charge of buying and selling players instead of Parry, absolutely but he has to learn to respect his bosses just like he expects the players to respect him.

Got to say that is really poor and there is no way that is a misunderstanding. It is a total lack of respect on Foster's part.

Thats what i was getting at, Hicks statement was all about this huge "misunderstanding", and there, in the middle of it all is a small sentence which speaks volumes about the americans attitude towards Rafa. I know we seem to be "fanning the flames" a little on here, but i still feel very uneasy about this "truce"

Mate, we're not the ones fanning the flames, it's the Americans who are fuelling the speculation by talking about everything under the sun apart from denying Rafa's job is on the line.

That last statement really makes me suspicious towards their intentions with Rafa.

The owners, Rafa and no doubt the players want to forget about all this and the fans should as well. Keep the support up for Rafa but then thats what we all should have been doing from the start unlike some people who seemed to love having a dig at him.
So far all the bad stories that were FACT have turned out to be bollocks so how can we trust anything the papers have printed. We know there has been fights but everyone seems a lot less calm and a few more wins will do us a world of good.
                      thats about right methinks.

I think its premature to suggest everything is rosy in the LFC garden just yet.

I think to say all this was merely poor communication is too simplistic. It seems to me Rafa & G&H were communicating plenty well enough, its what was communicated that was the problem.

Rafa said he couldn't sort 2 bosmans out for next summer. Also he couldn't discuss any transfer kitty etc until mid Dec, which we all know is too late. Now as we've heard nothing to the contary is this still the case. If it is, nothing has changed except Rafa's had to back down to keep his job.

Now i realise this is not 100% fact but I won't feel happy until we make some reasonably substantial signings as this would suggest Rafa's future is secure.

Well, the communication breaks down when Parry is in charge. What a coincidence or maybe not.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Liverpool may be entering a period of upheaval after it emerged co-owner Tom Hicks is looking for a way out of the club.

City sources have confirmed that Hicks, who has been at the forefront of a dispute with manager Rafa Benitez over signings, is preparing to sell his shares.

Hicks took control at Anfield, alongside fellow American George Gillett, following a £219 million takeover.

Both men initially rang the praises of Benitez, calling the manager a genius, with many supporters predicting Liverpool would lift the Premier League title this season after a £40m summer spending spree.

However, results have been inconsistent, sparking criticism of Benitez's rotation policy and prompting the Spaniard to demand more funds in January.

Hicks and Gillett have so far been reluctant to release more money for players, prompting a very public breakdown in relations.

Now it seems developments have reached a head with Hicks hoping to cash in on his investment.

The businessman has reportedly put a £1 billion guide valuation on the club, and while City analysts have dismissed this as ridiculous, it was revealed last night that Dubai International Capital, the investment group headed by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, are ready to make a new bid having previously attempted a takeover.
