He came on for the last half an hour or so against Birmingham and he made no difference whatsoever.

I would like to see a top class ‘2nd striker’ to play off Torres, but the way some people go on is as if they want/expect 4 world beaters up front. It just doesn’t work like that.

The other three are good players. Okay we could improve on them (notably Voronin & Kuyt IMO) but we shouldn’t get greedy and expect to have more strikers of Torres standard.

It's a strange phenomenon which seems to only effect Liverpool Football Club - the need to chastise ourselves for having such a great offensive weapon as Torres, does the team lack as much potency in front of goal when he's not there? Hell yes.

Why? Because he's one of the VERY best in the world. Take him out of any other team in the world and you'd reduce their attacking powers...

To say we can't score when he's not there is crap; and to say he improves our attacking play when he is there, is so utterly obvious, it's daft!

Maybe i'm being greedy but imo we could do with better strikers to support Torres

Not overly reliant, but he has managed 20% of our goals

that's a bit schizophrenic, isn' it?
people have been crying out for 20-goals a season man and now, for the first time in years it's look increasingly likely that we've got ourselves one, we're over-reliant on him. madness, pure madness.

Doesn't make him injury prone though does it, it makes him slow to recover from injury. Anyway, that's also bollocks. His recovery from his metatarsal injury was staggeringly quick. He was expected to miss the World Cup, but was fit in the middle of the group stages.

FLMAO, now I know you're taking the piss. Rooney's metatarsal problem was attributed to his boots, which may or may not be true, but to compare his injury record to Owen's is ludicrous. Michael Owen has been injured for the best part of three years.

According to Wikipedia, this is the players appearances over the last three seasons, the last figure being the current season:

                Rooney - 48,55,12
                Owen - 11,3,8
Such an ugly face, such an ugly mouth.

Like I said, he will do for us what Henry did for Arsenal, and more. How some of you laughed at the time
