Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher has according to first reports, picked up a blow to the ribs, during the Premiership clash against Bolton Wanderers at Anfield on Sunday.

He was taken off five minutes into the second half and Jack Hobbs came on as the substitute for the former England international, who had also picked up an injury to the same area against Sunderland earlier this season.

The Reds defender collided against keeper Jose Reina in the 38th minute and that is when apparently the damage was done, but Carragher played through to the half-time and took the field after the interval but only to be taken off in the 51st minute.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It would be funny if both fat Sam's Old boys AND fat Sam's New boys went down.

Still think Middlesborugh are worse than either Bolton and Newcastle. Derby are down.

I really like the way Lucas is progressing. I know Bolton are not the toughest opposition and they had Nolan/Hunt/Guthrie all out , but he(Lucas) looks so comfortable on the ball, always has time and generally seems to pick a decent pass.

For a lad so young his composure and awareness are excellent. With a couple more seasons coaching and experience he will be quite outstanding

I agree Niall. I just hope that Middlesboro save their usual "1 good game a season" for Arsenal next week.

He's becoming one of my favourite players. Finally we have a good alternative to Alonso. I honestly think he'll walk into the manc, Chelsea and Arsenal teams and is only considered 3rd/4th choice here because of the competition he's got.

Another high scoring game by us we beat the neanderthals 4 - 0 today and we're quitely going about our business and collecting points.

The blood sucking journos will be quite now as they only seem to write about Liverpool 'bad news'

Agreed, Lucas, Gerrard, Alonso and Masher, what a quartet at CM.

Lucas looks like he "belongs" if you know what I mean.
Obviously he still has a lot to learn, and we should not heap too much expectation on him so early, but the signs are very good.

Does anyone have a linky to the goals?

Two are on Youtube. I haven't seen the fourth yet.

And one of the good things coming out of this game, is another clean sheet of bookings. Very often, with teams like Bolton, our players can get into the physical attitude. almost lowering ourselves to compete with the thugs. We very often come away with a couple of, in my view, unnecessary cards that begin to impact later in the season.
