    Riise...

Just a quick thread to say....well done Jonny you played well today, being one of his biggest critics i felt he played without stupidity for 80 minutes today, which is great. A few more games at that level and maybe he should stay. He had to spoil it with 2 stupid shots at the end but the game was won by then.
    08-09 Dirk monitor

    5 goals (target 15)

    3 assists also........

He was decent enough today, steady but didn't really have much pressure on him.

Riise and Kewell were decent together in 2005-2006, a solid partnership. If Kewell stays fit I expect to see them playing there a lot more this season.

Never really tested defensively but did okay generally. His brain-dead shots from miles out are seriously infuriating.

If someone offers a minimum of £5-6m (come in Aston Villa ) then we should snap their hand off.

Momo to Inter for £10, and £16m off Villa for JAR and Carson = £26m for pretty much nowt.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I don't because Riise will be off in Jan

Only found out of position once when Arbeloa almost scored an own goal.

                Better than usual.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I like JAR as he loves the club but ability wise i think we have better at the club and i would love to see Insua given a chance in the near future.

That`s very unfair,he was as good as most on the pitch.

Insua is not better than Riise. That is a definate fact. He could be one day, but no one has seen enough of the lad to judge. Riise can be frustrating at times, but id rather have him than most of the other Left backs in the Leauge. Arbeloa is better than him, ill agree. But he definatly as ****e as some people make out.

A thread about JAR without my two penneth is like having fish and chips with no salt and vinegar !

I thought JAR was good today too. Maybe it's to do with the fact that he's been out of the side for a couple of games and was determined to prove a point. There's real competition for full back now that we know Arbeloa can cover both sides.

I'm sorry but when Riise has a 'good' game it either means:

                            1. He scored a cracker.

                            or

                            2. He didn't make defensive mistakes.

                            or

                            3. He didn't lose the ball too many times.

That's just not enough for me, I appreciate his effort and I don't mean to turn this into another Riise bash thread but he's not good enough even when he's "at his best". Compare him to Clichy and Evra and you notice a huge gap in quality there.

He's our 4th best full back. If Finnan, Arbeloa and Aurelio are fit, he shouldn't get a look in and Rafa seems to agree as well.

I don't understand this JAR bashing ****,the stats prove (according to that Paul Tompson nlad) that we concede less with him in the team then without.

I don't get it,he scores the odd wonder goal, but likely to sky a few but overall I want him in the side, his passion is second to none!
