    Hobbs

I was unable to too see the game testerday apart from the goals

How did Hobbs perform when he replaced Carra?

Didn't have a great deal to do. Performed his duties solidly and hit a couple of decent, long-range passes.

I have watched the match 3 times now.(F off, yes I have life.)

His positioning was virtually perfect, and because of which he didn't have much to do for his 40 mins on the pitch. Perfect positioning means the thru balls don't go to a striker that you are marking. He did well, but won't be mentioned because it appeared he did little.

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully, he will get a few more games under his belt and continue progressing

Can't be, he has about 9 or 10 in positioning But his passing surprised me though!
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He was also telling Arbeloa & Hyypia who to pick up & getting them into position in much the same way Carra does. Thought that showed real balls for a kid to be telling senior players how to play the game!

That is quality - I really hope some of these youngsters break into the team and establish themselves. Hobbs may find it difficult once Agger is back and if we sign another CB such as Garay.

If he's good enough then we shouldn't need another centre half. To be honest, the full back and wide midfield positions worry me more. If Rafa has been suitably impressed, perhaps Hobbs has saved Rafa some funds this transfer window?

he's looking for a player who can play both as left back and centre back.
time is certainly on hobbs side, he's only 19 isn't he?

He has leadership qualities, one of the reasons why he is the captain of the reserves.
                        We come not to play.

My concern with him would be pace, in a pre-season game that seemed to hinder him when he played midfield in a game or two. Didn't really have to run much yesterday, Bolton had given up when he came on and played few balls over the top. If he has a turn of foot could become a decent player for us.

He's not the quickest, BUT surely if he has excellent positioning then 8/10 he'd be ok? Also he's not as slow as what most of us remember, watching him in the reserves he certainly wasn't skinned by any one.

Ideally he needs to go out on loan to another Premiership team where he can acquire games at the highest level, once he's got that, bring him back and not sell him like how we've done with many of our other younger players.

Loan him to Derby, Sunderland, Middlesboro, Bolton anyone like that in Jan for the rest of the season, he'll then get 15 quality games in to progress.
I've seen Guthrie play a couple of times for Bolton and he has impressed me more than he ever did when playing for us last season
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
